The Koti Den - Page 25 Empty The Koti Den

Post by Marrok Thu Aug 29, 2013 5:46 am

First topic message reminder :

Marrok had just caught a third hare when he was about to catch his fourth a brown pup alerted it and made it hop away down into its tunnel. Rising up from his crouch the massive brute of white fur and red markings glared at the pup, then his gaze cooled. He knew the pup did not mean to alert his prey with her hoping around chasing a yellow butterfly. Flicking his ear and raising his muzzle as his yellow eyes looked down at the pup, his tail flickered. "What are you doing here?" He asked the pup in a calm tone, as he had not seen the brown pup around here. Nudging a hare toward the pup guessing she may had been hungry, he then picked up his catch of two since he had given the third to the pup.

The Koti Den - Page 25 Empty Re: The Koti Den

Amethyst smiled brightly, and followed her friend to the abyss where she found her brushing the snow away, revealing the grass beneath it. "Thank you Shadow. This really means a whole lot to me". She stood beside her friend and looked done at the grass that was a brownish color almost. Since it was hiding under the snow for quite a while, it was going to be really hard to make it into something that was going to be just as comfortable as laying on cold hard ground. She thought for a minute, wondering if this was going to all be possible. "I hope it's possible enough" she said worriedly. She kept sweeping the snow away revealing more and more dead grass underneath. She looked over at Shadow with her gold eyes and waited for her to speak.

Absently pawing the snow back over the decaying grass, the fae turned her glacial orbs toward the bare woodlands. Her subtle movements ceased as she began to ponder the possibility of life surviving in the dormant forest. "If you are up for it we could walk around the woods and search at the base of a few trees?" Shadow suggested, her tone bleak. Unconsciously padding forth toward the towering trees, the fae followed the faint melody of the birds beckoning her to investigate the terrain. Pausing her leisurely pace at the hill's crest, the ivory adorned fae looked over her shoulder toward the grey dappled femmora and flicked her tail indicating Amethyst should follow.

Amethyst saw Shadow flick her tail indicating that she should follow her. "Sure. I think that would be a much better place to look". She followed her to the big woodlands where there might be a few things available to make her bed out of. She consciously looked around for something soft. Maybe some leaves that could be softened out to become very comfortable. Or maybe some moss that could also be softened to make a comfortable bed. Amethyst thought really hard on what items to use. She slowly crept around, smelling things and seeing if they were any good or not. "What's the easiest thing you could make very soft?" She asked her friend. She looked at her and waited for a reply.

Rad padded through the snow, snow flakes landing on her head then melting quickly. Wind blew past her nose, making her stop and sniff the chilly air. Her heart quickened, her eyes stared in shock as a deep brown bear stood on its haunches and clawed at a tree, leaving deep marks. Rad took a step back, hoping the bear is to busy to notice her. why me? she muttered as she felt hot breath on her back. she gulped, and turned around to face it.

Stepping into the tree line, the ivory female wove around the nearest tree, her fur brushing against the course bark. Circling back to her friends side, Shadow averted her gaze toward the depths of the woodlands where the light no longer shone through the canopy of barren branches leaving the forest in darkness. "Feathers would make the most suitable choice, but the chance of finding birds seems fairly low," the femmora replied. Shifting her gaze outward of the woodlands, the silent breeze swept up sprays of snow into the air and the melody of the birds ceased. Engulfed in silence, a faint feeling of unease sprung through Shadow's body, urging her to leave the empty forest. "How about we try to find some moss, and perhaps a few patches of grass survived the long winters?" The fae suggested with a meek smile. Turning her cranium to look toward Amethyst, awaiting a reply, the lingering scent of bear drifted toward her. All at once the femmora's stature stiffened and a low growl rumbled within her chest.

Amethyst continued to look around for suitable things that would seem more comforting to her. For a second did she notice Shadow suggest to her about bird feathers. "Bird feathers would be good. Too bad that the chance of finding them will be very low". The very light grey female followed Shadow to a few trees to find some moss. "Yeah. I think moss would be a better choice. Maybe that could be softened enough to be comfortable". Turning her gaze to the left, did she find out that Shadow was growling lowly at something. Out in the corner of her eye... ...Was a bear! She stood stif and began to growl as well. "Stay away!!" She growled loudly towards the oncoming bear. She slowly took a couple of steps back as she continued to growl, worrying so much about her pup now. She quickly turned around and grabbed as much moss as she could get and ran for her life towards the Koti den. She dropped the moss inside of the den entrance and returned to where Shadow was. She only stood about a few feet away, having fear that the bear might hurt both her and her puppy. "Be careful Shadow..." She mumbled to herself. She stood and watched as Shadow tried to defend herself and her friend. Taking deep breaths to calm herself, she just sat there, entranced, afraid of what was going to happen next...

The Koti Den - Page 25 Siggie12
Shadow's ears swiveled back, detecting the faint sound of thundering paw steps layered with the paw steps of a quick escape. The fur lining the fae's spine rose along with her hackles making her appear larger. Whipping around to stare directly at the lumbering creature, the fae's upper lip curled back, revealing her gleaming incisors. Snapping her jaws together and snarling toward the massive creature in attempt to warn it off, the fae picked up movement near it. A wolf (Rad) stood secreted behind the towering trees, her russet fur standing out amongst the thin white canvas. Leaping forward, the ivory fae feinted to the bears side before quickly circling round the creature so it's back was to the den and it's vulnerable flank toward the unknown wolf. Spotting a familiar grey dappled frame reemerge, Shadow tilted her head in a subtle movement toward the motionless russet wolf hoping Amethyst would pick up on the hint to check if the stranger was well and keep away from the predator.

While Amethyst watched Shadow try to do something with the bear, another scent caught her attention. She began to hear crackling like someone stepping on twigs breaking them into tiny pieces. Turning her attention about a few inches to the right, she saw a brownish wolf (Rad) come into view. Amethyst used her tail to do some type of sign language to warn Rad about the Bear that Shadow was trying to attack. She just hoped that Rad would recognize and keep a very far distance away from the thing. Worry began to bubble up inside of her. "I wish that grizzly bear never came here in the first place..." She thought to herself. She tried not to worry too much. All she had to worry about was trying to get Rad's attention.

The Koti Den - Page 25 Siggie12
Sizing up the lumbering beast before her, the fae knew there was no possible way to take on the bear on her own. Retreating back a few strides, a snarl tore through her in an attempt to keep the bears attention. Pushing off with her hind quarters, Shadow sprung forward, each paw step carrying her faster toward the beast and closing the precious distance. Rushing up to the bears flank, the fae leapt onto the beast, her paws flailing in an attempt to climb up on the thrashing beast. Striking down with her incisors, the fae's teeth sank into the dense fur, finding the warm meat. Feeling the bears muscles move beneath it's pelt, the fae's glacial hued optics flicked up and widened. A sharp pain flared up within her shoulder triggering the instinct to leap off the bear. Landing unsteadily in a spray of snow, the fae stumbled away from the bear's swiping claws, attempting to reestablish a potential escape.
Turning her wounded shoulder to the bear, the fae's attention turned back to the two figures behind it, the grey dappled frame making wide gestures to the frozen russet wolf. Barking out to catch Amethyst's attention, Shadow tilted her head to the den, attempting to indicate she should return to safety. Continuing to pace, keeping the bears beady eyes focused on the fae, Shadow waited for Amethyst to reply.

The Wache

The small female's ears twitched as a unknown noise met them. She turned curiously, her blue eyes reflecting what she saw clearly. Her jaw dropped in horror as she saw a battle underway, just a ways away from her. Standing quickly, she galloped to her friends aid. She got behind the large bear, landing a few blows to its rump. Watching it turn and look at her made her realize with a jolt once again how small she was. She gulped. Not making eye contact with the bear, she looked at Shadow, willing her to land a few blows of her own. She nodded toward the wolf, and let out a snarl to indicate what she wanted her to do. Circling the angry bear, her fur fluffed out and her teeth bared aggressively, was all she could do at present.

A streak of snow white fur rushed past the fae's vision. Stunned by the sudden wolf joining the attack, the fae froze and stared blankly for a moment. Noticing the bear's attention turn to the small white wolf, the ivory hued fae started forward, her strides uneven and yet carrying her with determination. Leaping atop of the bear, Shadow took the previous attackers place and continued to savagely bite into the vulnerable wounds hoping to at least chase the beast away. Snarling, the fae landed back into the snow and continued to bite into the dense fur, inflicting deep bites into the bears unprotected flank.

Turning her head to see Shadow, Amethyst knew what she was trying to say to her. It was sign language indicating that she should return to the Koti den and quick! She nodded her head towards Shadow saying, "Okay" and heading back as fast as her paws could carry her. She also looked and saw another one of her friends helping out with the fierce bear. It was Ihana! But she didn't have enough time to stare at the action going on, she still had to return to the den. She panted very hard as she ran. Her heart beat was really fast. When she arrived at the den, she quickly headed inside to where her spot was awaiting her. She layed down and closed her eyes, trying to relax and calm down. Who knows what was going to happen next...!

Dark nodded and was about to follow, but stopped when his torn ear flicked at noises behind him. He turned and saw three wolves (Rad, Shadow, and Ihana) facing a bear. Dark went straight into instinct mode and charged right at the bear. He growled loudly as he tore his claws across the bear's chest. He jumped back before it had time to strike and snarled but at the same time grinned. Some of his best fights had been with Bears. Dark got into a defensive stand and snarled loudly, trying to taunt the bear.

Rad's tail flicked in surprise. three other wolves came, growling at the fierce bear that stood in front of her. A black wolf (dark) stood by the side of the bear, snarling at it. the bear roared and whipped its head side to side, obviously furious. Rad ducked quickly as the bear swigged its massive paw a hairs breath away from rad's ears. It roared again at its miss and fell onto all four legs and charged at the black wolf.

Seeing the bear charge at him, Dark let out a massive snarl and charged at straight at it. At the last moment he threw himself at the bear's face, his claws tearing away at the flesh on it's head and neck. Dark growled loudly as he felt the bear thrash around. It finally manage to throw Dark off. He smirked as he continued to see the bear roar angrily, blood now seeping out from wounds on it's head and neck. "I could do this all day!!" Dark laughed out loud, his claws sinking into the ground.

Chelsea heaved the carcass finally into the edge of the forest. Her ears flickered forward to mutiple growls and such, the commotion startled her. She pulled on the carcass a little more, using the trees to keep it covered from any scavenging birds, then she trotted off. Her head was low as she anticipated what she would see. Her ears perked as she heard Dark's words from a distance, frowning, she trotted forward even faster finally coming upon what she was searching for. Her pale eyes widened as she spotted the bear, as well as Dark, Ihana, and Shadow (I think?). Backing up a bit, she growled lowly. "Why is it so close to the den?" Chelsea spat looking over at Dark, having an angry expression.

Circling around the rear, limping lightly with each stride, the sneering pain shot through the her shoulder. Keeping back the fae observed the trio of wolves, her glacial optics burning with anger rested upon the charcoal brute (Dark) who savagely swiped at every opportunity. "The thrill of a fight," the fae muttered under her breath noticing the brute's joy. A loud snarl tore through her as she sprung up into the air abruptly, her claws sinking into the course brown carpet. Her crimson jaws flashed in the light as they struck down into the meat. Rewarded with an angry roar, the bear thrashed beneath her, moving its body in an attempt to fling her off. Catching a flicker of movement in her peripheral vision, the fae's orbs locked briefly on the white fae approaching the combat.

Rad quickly looked away as the bear's blood splattered onto the ground, making the snow a sickening red. she backed away further from the cluster of wolves that came to fight off the bear. Rad felt some what lucky, and unlucky at the same time. the lucky part is the bear could of ripped the den site to shreds if she didn't bump into it. however, they will be to busy thanking the wolves who fended off the bear. Rad sighed and sat behind a bush, watching the fight from the sidelines.

Post by Amethyst Tue Sep 24, 2013 8:01 pm

Back at the Koti den, Amethyst rested deep inside of the den, her special spot in which she loved to be. Her paws reached a few centimeters away from her. She then rested her head on the cold den ground, looking at the moss that she had brought in. She wondered if one of these days, it was going to be any good and useful when she had her pup. She wished that some of her friends were with her, but no. They were busy trying to take down a fierce full bear. Amethyst wrapped her tail around herself and decided to roll over onto her back for more comfort. She wanted to make sure that her pup was comfortable inside her as well. She wondered so much about her mate. Where could he be? He surely was taking a long time with his hunting session. She sighed deeply as she tried her best to get some sleep. She allowed her eyes to close and drift into a relaxing deep sleep. She really needed it for what she was already going through.

The Koti Den - Page 25 Siggie12
Leaping off the bear, the ivory female soared downward, her paws kicking up a fine spray as they collided with the cold, frozen earth beneath the white canvas. Spinning around to face the beast, she watched it rear back on it's hindquarters and eye it's attackers with hate burning amidst the darkened brown. Jumping back as its frontal paws landed with a thud, the fae snapped her crimson jaws in warning. With a final grunt, the bear turned sharply away from the pack wolves and darted off across the barren landscape, fleeing toward the cliffs visible silhouette.
Straightening her crouched position, the fae drew herself up to her full height and allowed her fur to steadily lie back. Shifting her glacial pools over the various wolves, she searched for any signs betraying their wounds. The fae's optics lingered on the russet toned wolf sitting a little ways back from the group, peering over the foliage coated in fine layers of snow. Glancing back a final time at the fading frame of he beast, a low growl rumbled in her chest, she felt certain the creature would not be returning to their lands.
Padding over to the russet wolf(Rad) lurking in the undergrowth, the fae dipped her head in a polite silent greeting. "You did well to keep the beast at bay until we came," Shadow said, praising the wolf. "If you had not risked your life the pack's den would be vulnerable to it's attack."
Turning her muzzle toward the wolves, the fae noticed the presence of a white fae amidst them speaking with the charcoal toned brute. Shadow's sleek banner flicked in a silent greeting toward the white fae who she recognized to be the stealthy Jeager, Chelsea.

"I have no idea." Dark replied to Chelsea as he saw the bear run off. "Thats the one problem with bears, they can be complete cowards!!" He snarled, he was tempted to go after it, he raised his head and turned towards the other wolves. "I should make sure the bear is gone." Dark suggested, quietly hoping he could continue his own fight with it. He sat down and waited for a reply.

Rad nodded at the wolf's words, (shadow) her eyes glistening. her tail twitched as she sniffed the air, the stench of the bear fading already. Rad got up, a strange scent resting in the bushes behind her. she pushed through them, too lazy to jump. three bear cubs sat in a small hole, their fur covered in snow and mud. she quickly glanced back, the wolf seemed to be interested in some other wolf she could not see. the cubs whined and pawed at each other, their eyes dull of hunger. rad froze, what should she do? she couldn't kill the poor things, her heart is not cold. She cant keep them either, the pack will be outraged. they will kick her out. she will be alone again. She shivered at the thoughts. she sighed and sat down next to them, thoughts swirling in her head.

Cinder sees a male deer. She stalks it slowly and then in seconds she dashed towards him. Every seconds Cinder gets faster. Getting closer, she jumped on his back, knocks him down with her weight and she sinks her claws into him ripping his throat with her teeth. Her powerful jaws sliced his throat. She eats half of him and then the drags to rest to the pack hoping to bring positive energy. In the den, Cinder she turns to the wolf who needs it most, Amethyst, who has a pup arriving. She drops it in front of her and smiled.

The fae's lacerated ear flicked, acknowledging she had heard the charcoal toned brute's (Dark) suggestion. Not responding immediately, the fae turned her gaze downward, eyeing the remaining scattered tracks amidst the snow. Her intuition screamed for her to agree but sending a wolf alone would be reckless, no matter how skilled a Pranice was, the beast had size and strength over a lone individual. Closing her eyes the fae shook her head reluctantly before speaking. "It would not be the best idea for you to seek out the bear, it is wounded and angry but it will not return," the fae spoke in a certain tone and her glacial optics flicked up to meet the brute's eyes searching for a trace within them that he would disobey. All she could see was the joy glimmering from the fight and she judged by his posture that the brute was eager to acquire a second.
